Never Lose Codes Privacy Policy

Coding Friend LLC ("we") makes Never Lose Codes, an extension for Google Chrome that keeps two-factor authentication (2FA) codes. The short version: your accounts are encrypted and stay on your computer. We never receive, see or sell them.
What the extension handles, and where it stays
- Your 2FA accounts: the setup key, service name and account name for each account you add. They are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and stored only in your browser on your computer.
- Backup files: the extension writes encrypted backup files to your Downloads folder (Downloads/NeverLoseCodes). They can only be opened with your recovery key.
- Images you import: photos or screenshots of QR codes are read on your computer and never stored or sent anywhere. If you choose "Scan with webcam", the camera is used only while that screen is open.
The extension has no access to the websites you visit and makes no network requests. It contains no analytics, tracking or ads.
Permissions the extension asks for
- Storage: to keep your encrypted accounts on your computer.
- Downloads: to write your encrypted backup files and clean up old ones the extension created.
- Alarms: to run the daily backup and the weekly integrity check.
If you buy Pro
Payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe tells us your email address and the payment ID, and we store them so we can deliver your license key and re-send it if you lose it. We do not receive your card details. Your key is checked on your computer.
Your recovery key
Your recovery key is created on your computer and shown only to you. We never receive it and cannot recover it or your codes for you.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the extension removes the data stored in your browser. Your encrypted backup files remain in your Downloads folder until you delete them. To have your purchase record deleted, email support@codingfriendllc.com.
Children
Never Lose Codes is not directed at children under 13.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
