Google Form™ responses not showing in the spreadsheet? Check the count first
Updated October 20, 2026
When new Google Forms™ responses stop appearing in your linked Google Sheets™ spreadsheet, there are a few common causes. Start with the one that's easiest to miss: the size of the form.
1. The form has passed 100,000 responses
Google's Google's help page says that if responses aren't synced with Google Sheets™, it can be because the form has more than 100,000 responses. Nothing warns you: the form keeps working and the sheet just stops getting new rows. Check the response count at the top of the form's Responses tab.
2. The sheet was unlinked or replaced
If someone chose "Unlink form" or made a new spreadsheet from the Responses tab, responses go to the new destination. The Responses tab's spreadsheet button shows which sheet is linked now.
3. The response tab was renamed, filtered or edited
Responses keep landing in the "Form Responses" tab. Filters can hide new rows, and editing that tab's structure can confuse people about where rows went. Check the bottom of the tab with filters cleared.
If it's the 100,000 limit
The form's own data is still there, but the sheet won't catch up by itself. You need a copy that doesn't depend on Google's sync, and then you need to bring the form back under the limit by clearing older responses you've safely kept. Download a CSV first so you have a full copy before deleting anything.
