What happens to big Google Forms™ in March 2027
Updated October 20, 2026
Google's new Google Forms™ limits (500,000 responses or 1 GB per form, from September 2026) come with a deadline for forms that are already over them. According to Google's help page, existing enterprise forms above the limit can receive new responses until March 2027. After that date, Google generates a Google Takeout archive of the responses for the form's admins or owners, and the responses are then deleted so the form can accept submissions again.
What that means in practice
- You'll get your data as a one-time export, not a working spreadsheet.
- All of the form's responses are removed, including recent ones you may still need in the form.
- Anything built on the form's summary or linked sheet will need to be rebuilt.
What to do before March 2027
- Find your biggest forms and check their response counts.
- Move older responses into an archive spreadsheet you control.
- Clear them from the form, keeping only what's current, so it falls under the limit on your terms.
Form Keeper's health meter shows each form's count and pace, and its archive and scheduled clearing bring a form under the limit gradually, keeping the recent responses in place.
See exactly where your form stands
Form Keeper's free health meter shows your response count, how fast it's growing, and the date your form reaches each of Google's limits. It can also archive every response to a sheet you own and clear old ones on a schedule, without losing anything. Learn about Form Keeper.
