Sheets2GCal alternative: an honest comparison
Checked October 25, 2026. We make Calendar Autopilot, so read this knowing that. Every fact about Sheets2GCal below comes from its Marketplace listing and its website on that date, and you can check each one there.
Sheets2GCal, by GCalTools, is the biggest Google Sheets™ to Google Calendar™ add-on, with more than 8 million users. It is a capable tool, and for some jobs it's the better choice. Here is where each one fits.
Choose Sheets2GCal if you need…
- Repeating events kept as one series, Google Meet links or event colors. Sheets2GCal handles all three. Calendar Autopilot doesn't create them (it keeps them if you add them in Google Calendar™).
- To pull an existing calendar into a sheet, for example to build a timesheet from events you already have. Sheets2GCal imports a whole calendar or a date range. Calendar Autopilot only tracks the events its own rows created.
- One calendar per tab, with import and export across all tabs at once.
- A language other than English. Sheets2GCal comes in six.
Choose Calendar Autopilot if you need…
- Changes on your calendar right away. Sheets2GCal's automatic sync runs once a day by default. Calendar Autopilot sends each edit as you make it and checks every hour for anything missed, with the sheet closed.
- To know when syncing stops. Google doesn't warn you when an add-on's timer stops running. If Calendar Autopilot's automatic sync goes quiet, we email you.
- To see what will happen first. A preview shows "creates 12, updates 3, deletes 1" before anything changes, and Undo steps back through your last 20 syncs.
- A check mark on every row. A status column shows ✓ for each row on your calendar, or ⚠ with the reason in plain words.
- No account to create. Sheets2GCal's free account is set up on its website. Calendar Autopilot works as soon as it's installed, with no account and no card.

How Calendar Autopilot handles getting started
Open any sheet with a date column. Calendar Autopilot guesses your date, time, title, location and guest columns, and you can change any guess. Preview, then sync. If a row can't go on the calendar, its status cell says why, such as "No date in column B.". If you'd rather start fresh, "Create a starter sheet" makes one with example rows.
